Dear Mr. Watkins,

We received a copy of the paper "The potential of An Electrical Interconnection Between Russia and North America" during the PES January 1992, IEEE meeting in New York. We are interested in similar work since Egypt and Zaire are the sponsors of a similar project to transmit over 10 GW from Inga hydro power in Zaire to Europe through two high voltage D.C. transmission routes. Both countries are getting a grant from the African Development Bank to finance the feasibility study to be carried out by an international consultant.

It would be beneficial for both of the Global Energy Network International and the Ministry of Electricity and Energy of Egypt to exchange experience about this subject.
