Requesting your Endorsement for the GENI Initiative
Dear Sir,
Energy is once again a premier issue of our planet -- the spiking costs to
consumers and producers, the emissions into our environment and the impact on
the global economy. For the past decade, the Global Energy Network Institute
has built a credible case for a long-term strategy: the interconnection
of electric power grids between nations that link local and regional renewable
energy resources.
Regional grids are expanding in China, Latin America, the Middle East and West
Africa. Today, solar and windpower are the fastest growing energy sectors, at
20% - 40% respectively. The GENI Initiative is honored with strong endorsements
from Boutros Boutros-Ghali, Walter Cronkite, Desmond Tutu, Ragendra Pachauri,
Vicente Fox and many other statesmen. They support this global strategy for
peace and sustainable development. We invite you to consider the proven benefits
for humanity and the planet:
- increase living standards
- reduce the cost of electricity
- reduce pollution from fossil fuel and nuclear generation
- reduce poverty and hunger around the world
- stabilize population growth
- promote international trade, cooperation and peace
Simply stated, the premier strategy is a world wide web of electricity,
tapping abundant renewable energy resources around the world. This is the
"highest priority objective" from the World GameTM simulation, designed
by the visionary engineer Dr. R Buckminster Fuller. Using a Comprehensive Anticipatory
Design Science approach, these long-range planners asked this fundamental question:
"How do we make the world work for 100% of humanity in the shortest possible
time through spontaneous cooperation without ecological damage or disadvantage
to anyone?"
{Salutation?}, we believe this strategy is vital for the 1.6 billion people
with no electricity. They struggle daily just to meet
their basic survival needs. This strategy is critical
for the world's largest polluters: the United States,
China, India and Russia. We seek your partnership
in this work. Please review the enclosures: then,
would you consider writing your endorsement
for this initiative? It would make a real difference.
In partnership for the planet,
Peter Meisen
President
