Siliken to build Latin America’s largest solar
project
Oct. 10, 2011 - Chris Whitmore - pv-tech.org
Spanish
PV equipment manufacturer Siliken is planning to
build a 100MW solar park in Durango, Mexico. When
completed, the project will be the largest in Latin
America and cost around US$300 million.
Siliken, which has signed an agreement to manage
the Canatlán site for 30 years, is currently
securing permitting and sales contracts for the park.
It expects to complete this process in four to six
months and, should this be successful, a four-phase
installation programme will begin in summer 2012;
local construction firms will carry out the building
work, fitting the 300-hectare site with Mexican-manufactured
panels.
