Morocco to host international conference
on rural electrification

An international conference on rural electrification,
on the theme "electrification and development," will
be held in January 2008 in the Moroccan city of Marrakech,
at initiative of the country's national electricity
authority (ONE).
The conference to be attended by various energy
experts, scholars, institutional operators, decision
makers and donors, will review issues concerning the
development of rural electrification and projects
and innovations for sustainable development, as well
as the dissemination of techniques, know-how and development
of skills.
Workshops on "experience of global rural electrification
program (PERG)," "commercial approach, commercial
management for rural consumers," "decentralized electrification"
and "supply security," will also feature on the conference's
agenda.
