    GENI is
participating ever closer with GEIDCO, the Global Energy interconnection
Development and Cooperation Organization, a global initiative led by Liu Zhenya,
the past Chairman of the China's State Grid Corp. Our Board member Michael
Powers recently presented the GENI story in Beijing at the GEIDCO China-Africa
    Power Forum: https://en.geidco.org/2019/1106/1696.shtml
   Also featured was Professor
Dr. Jeffrey Sachs, Chairman of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network
and Director at the Columbia University Earth Institute. His voice is heard
around the world, and he states: "two major projects launched in China merit
attention: the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the Global Energy
Interconnection (GEI) initiative. The BRI aims to connect Asia and Europe (and
other regions) through massive investments in transport, power and
communications infrastructure. GEI aims to deliver high-quality renewable
    energy through international grids."
  More recently, the 11,000 world's
scientists have reported that "our planet is facing a climate emergency." Every major
climate-related challenge is trending negative over the past 25 years. Jeffrey
Sachs has proposed that we "Call in the Engineers."  Our negotiators
and their governments are stuck, whereas engineers and designers think
differently: we define a problem, assess options and costs, and offer optimal
    strategies.
"Tell us engineers the desired 'spec's and the timeline, and
    we'll get the job done."
   We know that
visualizing problems and solutions help to accelerate best design options. SIMCenters offer that tool for collaboration and smarter decision making. Where do we
go to grapple with the critical issues of our time? Call us to discuss
how you can 'Call in the Engineers' in your community. In Partnership for the Planet, |
